Barriers to assessing and teaching in Early Years

There appears to be a recurring theme which I have encountered along my Early Years journey.

Assessing or teaching in Early Years sounds like a good way to progress when you have worked 'hands on' for several years, built up skills, knowledge and become qualified with everything you would need to pass this knowledge on to the next generation of Early Years educators. An exciting prospect, yes?

Well, yes, if it was a little more straightforward. See the issue is that in order to gain the qualification for either of these roles, one needs to have a certain amount of teaching hours or students to assess. So how can one have said hours or students without a job in one of these roles? And if the role requires the qualification... here we are, going around in circles.

I am fully aware that there are many assessors and trainers out there, so it can't be impossible. But I feel like I am sometimes banging my head against a brick wall to overcome this barrier.

If I get any answers, I will let you know!
